Manipur must overcome its current issues: Union Minister Nirmala Sitharaman

Union Minister Nirmala Sitharaman addressed the need for collective efforts to restore peace in Manipur during a program. She acknowledged that the state is facing challenging times, and the recent incident involving the parade of naked women is a delicate problem that has deeply affected all communities in Manipur.

Expressing her concern, Sitharaman emphasized that Manipur is a beautiful state that must overcome its current crisis. She urged everyone to work together in bringing back peace to the region. The Minister stated that the incident has left a profound impact on the entire country, and there are no words to adequately explain or address such a distressing issue.

Regarding the incident, she informed that some arrests had already been made on Thursday, and she asserted her confidence that the perpetrators would be brought to justice.

Furthermore, Sitharaman mentioned that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had expressed the country’s collective shame over the disturbing incident in Manipur before the commencement of the Monsoon Session of Parliament on Thursday.
